My suggestions for the Human Space Flight Plans Committee
from June 19, 2009

After reading on several space sites and blog and on Facebook about the Human Space Flight Plans Committee public meeting, I've decided to start writing today a list of MY personal and rational TIPS for the Committee and to publish them, gradually, on this blog on its HSF Facebook page and on other forums and blogs, from now, until the end of the ongoing study and before the last HSF public meeting.

From what I've read, so far, the choices considered by the Commission run around three main options: the continuation of the development of the current Ares-1 and Ares-5 rockets OR the adoption of cheaper and ready available EELVs (like the Delta IV) OR the adoption of alternative concepts like the (FAST-SLV-like but FOUR months LATER) Direct proposed by the homonymous (and anonymous...) LOBBY, made of unknown members but which seem, however, have enough money to promote their cloned rockets...

Of course, all the suggestions published here will be of a general and "strategic" nature without giving any detail of vehicles, concepts and missions architectures, since, months ago, I've decided to no more publish my ideas about (or at least not all ideas) to avoid seeing again (and always AFTER...) MY ideas proposed by OTHERS (that, later, always say they have "developed it in '76") and to avoid see MY ideas "freely used" by BIG companies, space agencies and phantom lobbies, as already happened with MY ideas of a Moonrovers Prize Competition the FAST-SLV-like but FOUR months LATER "Direct" etc.

I want to publish at least three dozens of good and rational suggestions here, in the coming weeks, so, watch this page every day!

#01:  make a Space program on which people can dream about ... GO»

#02:  don't have "fear" to adopt new ideas and innovative design ... GO»

#03:  throw away NOW in the garbage the 5 and 5.5 segments SRBs ... GO»

#04:  put the spacecrafts and spaceflights SAFETY as FIRST concern ... GO»

#05:  don't throw away the Shuttle's technology and know-how ... GO»

#06:  don't dismantle or modify or upgrade the Shuttle's launch pads ... GO»

#07:  scrap NOW the Ares-1 and Ares-5 before it's TOO LATE for ESAS ... GO»

#08:  resize the Orion to 4.5 meters and its crew to three astronauts ... GO»

#09:  absolutely avoid to adopt (for now) any kind of orbital refuel ... GO»

#10:  absolutely don't adopt the SERIOUSLY FLAWED "Direct" concept ... GO»

#11:  don't launch the Ares 1-X from KSC but from a DESERT place ... GO»

VERY IMPORTANT

Five weeks ago my intention was to write 30+ articles with suggestions for the Human Space Flight Plans Committee before the commission will end its job the upcoming 5 of august, but, unfortunately, after my first 11 posts, I haven't had the time to write other suggestions, as I hoped, and, probably, I can't publish more posts, not even, in the next two weeks [today is Jul. 23] before the commission will end to evaluate the space flights options for NASA.

Then, I hope to write my further opinions (about the Space Shuttle, ISS, Shuttle-C/HLV, EELVs, new.space companies, lunar outposts, lunar landers, lunar space stations, robotic exploration, interplanetary probes, Mars missions, etc.) in the next months.

However, you can read in short my opinions and suggestions (about the arguments listed here and other) following the HSF Committee Facebook page.
